The Giant Mountains (Krkonose) are the highest Czech Mountains (Mount Snezka is 1,602 m above sea level). The Giant Mountains are beautiful every season of the year. Bicycle and hiking paths can be used from spring to fall. Among the best places are Mount Snezka, the Elbe river springs, Spindleruv mlyn, Black Mountain, the Adrspach Rocks and the Safari ZOO. Sightseeing flights over the mountains are also available. During winter, you can wander around or use the downhill ski runs or cross-country ski trails. Ski runs are available for both beginners and advanced downhill skiers.
Situated only 170 m from the main road but with a marvelous view of the landscape, the Pomnenka pension is in an ideal location. It is located in the middle of the Portaska - Velka Upa downhill course, just 1 km from Pec pod Snezkou. The ski lift for beginners is just next to the pension. Another 15 downhill runs are located within 2 kilometers of the pension. A free ski-bus can be used to reach them.
